The Division of Pediatric Surgery is devoted to the diagnosis and management of surgical problems (general and thoracic) in infants and children which include:

  • Alimentary tract (esophagus, stomach, small and large bowel)
  • Abdomen and its contents (diaphragm, biliary tract, liver, pancreas, spleen)
  • Breast, Skin, and Soft tissue
  • Chest Wall and Lung disorders
  • Head and Neck (traumatic, congenital, and malignant disorders)
  • Endocrine (thyroid, pancreas, adrenal; and, working with other specialists, Intersex problems)
  • Surgical Oncology (malignant tumors and benign growths)
  • Trauma (the number one killer of children in the United States); management of traumatic injuries; advocates of injury prevention
  • Critical Care and ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) cannulation for profound respiratory failure
  • Neonatal (birth defects and surgical complications of infection)
  • Pre-natal (antenatal diagnosis of abnormalities by ultrasound)
  • Vascular access

The Division of Pediatric Surgery consists of four board certified pediatric surgeons. Their clinical practice includes the surgical problems of infants, children, and adolescents.
